History
Herradura Tequila Añejo was first introduced in 1962, making it one of the pioneers in the añejo category1. The brand itself, Casa Herradura, was officially established in 1870 by Félix López in Amatitán, Jalisco, Mexico. The name “Herradura,” which means “horseshoe” in Spanish, was inspired by a lucky horseshoe found on the property by Aurelio López Rosales.

Casa Herradura has a long-standing tradition of producing high-quality tequila using 100% Blue Weber Agave. Despite modern advancements, many traditional methods are still employed, such as slow-cooking the agave in clay ovens and using natural fermentation processes.

Herradura Añejo is celebrated for its craftsmanship and has been compared to some of the finest whiskies in the world.
