A Laphroaig whisky of any aege is exceptional. But this 33-year-old 1987 Vintage Single Malt, matured in refill ex-Bourbon barrels, has special meaning for us. It forms the third chapter in the story of Ian Hunter and, as such, celebrates the man whose strength of character secured the future of our distillery. It was Ian who made Laphroaig what it is today by protecting the vital water source that flows through our peat fields and is transformed into our unique liquid. It is a whisky not unlike Ian Hunter himself. In this book, we’ll tell the story of how and why Ian Hunter’s enduring legacy lives on in our liquid today.
